It's October 17th and it's time for one of the many.......

.......combo Autumn Foliage / Pumpkin Festival / wine tasting journeys

Just waiting for that famous call......

It's a beautiful day and the leaves are at their peak.

And even Foofie wants to go.

A true family event.

Got a bunch of wonderful people here. This is Steve.

The Railroad Museum of New England is 100% volunteer. This is Mike.

Dave

All systems are go - 16 cylinders are primed and ready.

Engineer's cab is waiting for Dave.

The call goes out.........."All aboard..........!"

Dave, our engineer, doing final checks.

Off we go....headed north toward Torrington.

Could not be a more beautiful day.

Every turn is a new vista.

Of course, the most important part of the trip are the passengers.

Even teenagers like it!

Coming up on Thomaston Dam

What's not to like?

Blue sky...leaves at their peak...pinch me

Same Thomaston Dam looking backwards from Engineer's cab.

Often, it's difficult to choose which side of the train to look out at.

My favorite shot. Perhaps you've noticed it's on the home page.

You can become intoxicated with the scenery.

And I think you've got the point.

No words needed for these three photos.

Next stop....the Pumpkin Patch Festival !

Everyone off the train. Time to have even more fun !

There are pumpkins in my future !

See that? I just knew there was a pumpkin in my future!

Wait....I'm just learning. Is that what everyone calls a pumpkin? If so, I think I like it !

Yep...it's called family - family - family.

Take my picture...honestly, I'm not shy.

And did we mention that's all about family - family - family?

Such a good day for all generations.

a photograph for the ages

Does this day have to end?

If you want it - there's a pumpkin for everyone - no matter what age.

Pumpkin pie or just carving, or maybe both?

Day's end.

Almost forgot to mention, The Railroad Museum of New England is.......

100% accessible to everyone.

100% volunteer crew. Steve Casey (2nd from left) is President of the RM of NE.

Could the day have been any better?
